NEMA Type 4 Enclosures
Overview
Delta NEMA Type 4 Enclosures are designed to house electrical components, such as terminal blocks, controls, and instruments. These enclosures are watertight and dust tight; therefore, they are generally used in areas which may be regularly hosed down or are otherwise very wet.
Construction
Delta NEMA Type 4 Enclosures are made from 14 gauge steel with all seams continuously welded and ground. A rolled lip is provided on three sides of the door and all sides of the enclosure opening. This lip adds strength and helps prevent liquids and dirt from entering the enclosure when the door is open. A neoprene cover gasket is attached with an oil-resistant adhesive. The door may be removed by pulling the hinge pin. All exterior hardware including the hinge pin is made from stainless steel. A hasp and staple are provided for a padlock. Each enclosure has a removable print pocket. Door and body stiffeners are provided in larger enclosures for extra rigidity. Collar studs are provided for mounting the optional back panel. External mounting feet are also provided. There are no holes or knockouts in the enclosure.
Accessories
Back panels are available but must be ordered separately. Panels are made from 12 gauge steel.
Finish
The standard finish is white enamel inside, and on the outside, ASA 61 gray enamel over phosphatized surfaces.
Modifications
Delta can provide to your specifications holes, hubs, louvers, cutouts, knockouts, and many other modifications. Special sizes and construction modifications are also available.
